I read a book by Florence Littauer called "personality plus". Its quite similar to the "D.I.S.C system", but using different name for each category. Most people are combination of four but do show a dominant tendency towards one or two.

[The 'Personality Plus' personality profiles
Choleric: This is the commander-type. Cholerics are dominant, strong, decisive, stubborn and even arrogant.
Melancholy: This is the mental-type. Their typical behaviour involves thinking, assessing, making lists, evaluating the positives and negatives, and general analysis of facts.
Sanguine: This is the social-type. They enjoy fun, socialising, chatting, telling stories - and are fond of promising the world, because that's the friendly thing to do.
Phlegmatic: This is the flat-type. They are easy going, laid back, nonchalant, unexcitable and relaxed. Desiring a peaceful environment above all else.]
I went through the test in the book and found my personality was quite equally distributed amongst all four characteristics.
That could be the best and yet worst personality one could have, because my personality could switch from one to another depending on mood and emotion. We can't change our personality as it is born given, so I started to control my mood and emotion. Actually I envy people with dominant to one or two characteristic because they can quickly stand out and become who they want to be. I am always being labeled as "no character", which sound like an insult to me. :P
We cant please everyone, so be it. Majority know whats right and wrong, but to appease the crowd, they decided to "stand on the gate", or in psychology jargon, its called utilitarianism .
